Adapt quickly to changing regulatory and compliance requirements 

When regulations or compliance requirements change, organisations need the flexibility to respond without disrupting existing certification programmes. 

Totara V20.3 makes it easier to manage out-of-cycle certification changes, with new capabilities to update certification requirements across large groups of learners. 

Path-wide changes: Update recertification windows directly from certification path settings, with the flexibility to apply changes to future assignments or existing learners. 

Targeted updates: An improved Completion tab makes it easier to filter, sort and export learner records, with bulk actions to update certification paths, expiry dates and recertification windows for selected learners. 

Efficient processing: Smaller updates are applied immediately, while larger changes run as scheduled tasks, with on-screen status displays to keep administrators informed of progress. 

These enhancements reduce manual administration, help maintain accurate compliance records and give organisations greater confidence in managing certification requirements at scale.

Easier access to support and Community resources 

Finding help and support is now easier, with a new Totara support menu that brings the Totara Community, Totara Help and links to the latest product release information directly into your site navigation. 

Users can quickly access guidance, learning resources and peer discussions without having to search for them separately, creating a more connected experience between the platform and its support resources. 

Administrators have the flexibility to control who sees the menu, customise the available links and add their own support resources. The new menu is available in both the Inspire and Ventura themes.

How can I get these features?

The items in this blog are part of a minor release, which means they are available immediately if you are on a progressive pathway (where your site is upgraded multiple times a year). For all other Totara users, these items will be available in the next major release (V21 – due in early 2027).
