Wizz Air soars to a 95% course completion rate with Totara Learn

Wizz Air is the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, operating a fleet of 100 Airbus A320 and Airbus A321 aircraft, and offering more than 600 routes from 25 bases, connecting 141 destinations across 44 countries.

The Challenge

In the first phase of their Totara Learn platform, Wizz Air implemented Totara for 350 Hungarian employees in 2015 with the help of Veloxnet. The colleagues have used different e-learning materials in the system with very high level of satisfaction, so Wizz Air management team decided to expand the usage of the Totara to their full European userbase (4,200 employees).

With GDPR coming into effect, they also needed a system upgrade to meet the privacy requirements of the regulation. They also had to make sure that everyone logged in to the system and completed a mandatory GDPR e-learning course in less than two weeks.

The Solution

Wizz Air were very pleased with the prompt actions taken by Veloxnet team in answering their requests. They wanted to make sure that the LMS was fully compliant and all employees are properly trained before GDPR came into effect on May 25th 2018, so this part of the project had some very tight deadlines.

Veloxnet made this possible by being there to answer all of Wizz Air’s questions and ensure the smooth transition from a system supporting less than 400 employees to one managing 4,200 employees.

The Totara Learn 11 extension project has been successful, and the modern educational environment of Totara helps grow the engagement level of all European Wizz Air employees.

The Results

• The system has been upgraded to be GDPR compliant
• An additional 3,800 employees were added as users, showing the easy scalability of the platform
• User ID and passwords were communicated to everyone
• GDPR e-learning materials were created and assigned to all users for completion
