Its <span class=\"s1\"><b>100% Pure New Zealand Specialist Programme (NZSP)<\/b><\/span> certifies international and local travel sellers, giving them the confidence to design personalised New Zealand itineraries for their clients.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">The programme runs on Totara and serves a global, multilingual audience of independent travel professionals across five language editions.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"s1\"><b>The Challenge<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">The certification programme runs on TNZ\u2019s T\u014dtara learning management system. Before 2024, TNZ couldn\u2019t update legacy course content without vendor support, and learners could only complete courses in one sitting. Recognising the need to modernise and create efficiencies, the Trade Content and Digital Platforms teams at TNZ led a learning refresh project.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">To maintain a high standard of learning, TNZ needed to ensure its programme was easy to follow, had a good user experience, and the course content was modern and up to date. TNZ completed market research to ensure that revisions made to the learning material reflected the needs of its learners.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">After working with Totara Partner Catalyst on previous projects, TNZ re-engaged the team in 2024 to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>develop a modern dashboard and course pages that could work on any device<\/li>\n<li>create quiz pages that enable learners to pre-test and skip what they already know<\/li>\n<li>upskill the TNZ team to create course content themselves without needing vendor support, so TNZ could build quality bite-sized modules that learners could complete quickly<\/li>\n<li>update the learning platform so TNZ could roll out its strategy to introduce a recertification pathway<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"s1\"><b>The Solution<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\">TNZ and Catalyst agreed to an Agile approach for the project, creating iterative changes that learners could test and give feedback on throughout the process. The collaboration began by building TNZ\u2019s in-house capabilities, building independence and confidence in the team to create and update content moving forward.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-77575 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/totara.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Shayne_Priddle_NZSP-Dashboard.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"649\" height=\"888\" srcset=\"https:\/\/totara.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Shayne_Priddle_NZSP-Dashboard.jpg 649w, https:\/\/totara.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Shayne_Priddle_NZSP-Dashboard-219x300.jpg 219w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 649px) 100vw, 649px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Catalyst\u2019s Learning Solutions Consultant ran two hands-on training sessions on how to use H5P, the built-in content authoring tool in T\u014dtara. This included creating a hub where staff could refer back to the training content when needed, while providing the means for future staff to be trained in-house. The training ensured TNZ could:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>make the most out of the built-in tools in T\u014dtara<\/li>\n<li>implement microlearning best practices<\/li>\n<li>include interactive course content like quizzes<\/li>\n<li>introduce pre-testing options before courses<\/li>\n<li>create course content that could be accessed on any device and completed at any time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-77579\" src=\"https:\/\/totara.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Shayne_Priddle_NZSP-Modules-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"994\" height=\"859\" srcset=\"https:\/\/totara.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Shayne_Priddle_NZSP-Modules-1.jpg 994w, https:\/\/totara.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Shayne_Priddle_NZSP-Modules-1-300x259.jpg 300w, https:\/\/totara.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Shayne_Priddle_NZSP-Modules-1-768x664.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 994px) 100vw, 994px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">TNZ and Catalyst prototyped the new seller dashboard and course format, testing with real travel sellers. Their feedback helped shape the course structure, and reinforced TNZ\u2019s research-backed plan to simplify the tiers to a \u2018Graduate Specialist\u2019 and an \u2018Advanced Specialist\u2019 certification.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Catalyst implemented TNZ\u2019s design, configured the dashboards in five languages, and created a new progression structure in T\u014dtara. Learners must complete eight foundational courses to become a \u2018Graduate Specialist.\u2019 On completion, advanced-level courses are unlocked, enabling learners to work towards becoming an \u2018Advanced Specialist.\u2019<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">After a soft launch in India, TNZ has continuously improved the learning journey between systems so learners receive consistent, timely information. Catalyst migrated learners from the old tier structure to the new one. T\u014dtara was integrated with TNZ\u2019s CRM, automating critical emails such as certification and expiry, as well as course summaries to reinforce learning. Learners have shared that <span class=\"s1\"><i>\u201cThese courses are amazing and I learned a lot\u201d<\/i><\/span> and <span class=\"s1\"><i>\u201cThe new courses were bite-sized and easy to complete and covered a vast amount of information with brevity.\u201d<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"s1\"><b>Key outcomes<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Course completion rates increased by <span class=\"s1\"><b>87.8%<\/b><\/span>, with more learners finishing what they started.<\/li>\n<li>Learners save on average <span class=\"s1\"><b>17 minutes per course<\/b><\/span>, and with the restructured tiers, an average saving of <span class=\"s1\"><b>2 hours 16 minutes<\/b><\/span> to become a certified Specialist.<\/li>\n<li>The TNZ team published <span class=\"s1\"><b>17 new courses<\/b><\/span> in five language editions, totalling <span class=\"s1\"><b>85 new courses<\/b><\/span> in less than a year.<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"s1\"><b>82% of users<\/b><\/span> revisit the programme after their initial log in, showing strong evidence of an engaged user base.<\/li>\n<li>The average time saved on course amendments is <span class=\"s1\"><b>20 hours per update<\/b><\/span>.<\/li>\n<li>Advanced Specialist achievement rose by <span class=\"s1\"><b>107.7%<\/b><\/span> with more sellers earning the top certification.<\/li>\n<li>Course creation costs have decreased by <span class=\"s1\"><b>65.5%<\/b><\/span> since TNZ has upskilled its team.<\/li>\n<li>Courses are available in <span class=\"s1\"><b>five languages<\/b><\/span>, serving sellers worldwide.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-77571 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/totara.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Shayne_Priddle_NZSP-Japanese-Dashboard.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"645\" height=\"893\" srcset=\"https:\/\/totara.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Shayne_Priddle_NZSP-Japanese-Dashboard.jpg 645w, https:\/\/totara.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Shayne_Priddle_NZSP-Japanese-Dashboard-217x300.jpg 217w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 645px) 100vw, 645px\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n  <\/div>\n\n\n<div class='inline-quote-container themeLightBlue'>\n      <blockquote><p class=\"p1\">\u201cWe didn\u2019t have the internal capability to create SCORM courses.
